Are We Headed For A Double Dip Recession

There is a lot of speculation about a possible double dip recession. I don't think there will be a double dip recession. We need to educate the public that the recovery process of a recession is a slow process, and it can take up to five years before we see any real growth and stability. Most people seem to think that countries recover from recession overnight.

Double Digits Recession

I heard a lot of talks about double digits recession. I don't believe we are going to have a double digit recession, I think all this talk is just fuel by election frenzy.

The last job report was not encouraging, but we have to remember that we are still in a recovery mode; face it, this was one of the worst recessions we have ever seen. Thus, we still have to maintain more patient.

Double Digits Recession

There is much talk about double digits recession, somehow I thought we had a recess of sort from the recession. Wowo, wo; so, what happen, ha, what ddd ... what is this new talk, or resurgent of talks, so to speak. I tell you what this new excitement is about; it is all about election, nothing more. Hay class, pay attention to the teacher; the aim of these talks is to discuss the president and his electability based on performance. If they, that is, the voice mischief, can successfully make the argument that another recession is looming; then certainly they will frighten the voters to seek an alternative.

Now, let me be clear, I love alternative, there's nothing wrong with alternative. What is wrong is misleading people. We should allow people to select an alternative based on their own convictions and not on misinformation.

I got to tell you, the democratic system that we embrace is becoming more and more vicious as the voices of mischief work diligently to mislead us and abuse our democracy through their liberty. The last job report came in lower than expected; certainly, a very disappointing news. Also, house price went down again; that's not disappointing. House value still have more corrections to do. For the past several years house prices have been escalating and everyone turned a blind eye. Now the prices are coming back to their realistic levels and we are complaining. The reason why we are complaining is because we are losing our illegal profits

I do not expect a double digit recession, this is a scare tactics fuel by election frenzy.

I have been away for while working on my PhD, but I am back now, and I am watching and you will be hearing from me.

To be or not to be a Santa

Well friends, the holidays are here again, it's a time when most of us are tempted to increase our credit card balances, ignore our bills and neglect our December commitment.

Just a word of advice, January is a tough month; so while you are out on your shopping spree adventure please be mindful of the tough times ahead. Remember, the bills are coming, the bills are coming and and the collection calls. The truth is, most of us will not get a big tax refund this year because you have changed your W4 at the third and fourth quarter. Woo-woo. I feel like singing; can I sing "Oh chrismas tree... hahahaaa!"

Whose message the people sent to Washington? The tea party or the Republicans

It appears that the tea party has gained preeminence. Well, of course, John Boehner is headed to Washington to create a smaller government, reduce spending, create jobs, empower small businesses, and clean up corruption. That sounds like the tea party message, no, did I miss something? Well, that looks like a tall order, too; a mean, tall. What you think? It sounds like he’s taking on the role of the FBI, the congress, and the Federal Reserve all by himself. Don’t you hate it when politicians give these glorious self-righteous speeches that produce nothing?

Alright, what now? Some speculate that there will be gridlock on Capitol Hill, GRIDLOCK, wow, perhaps there will be a whole line of black limos. Oh, my mistake, pardon me; you mean gridlock means that they will be sitting and arguing and doing nothing productive in Congress. Noooo! We are a nation of producers. In America? WHAT? Are you kidding, and who is going to pay for that nonsense? First up, I have no interest in two years of political theatre; not when so many people are out of work. Do you? I think not. I predict none of the above, I believe we will have a bi-partisan government that will be more effective than a majority Democratic ran government.

Face it, the Obama administration has failed us; it broke the promise it made to the American people. The Obama administration alienate businesses and created record unemployment while pushing healthcare reform which was a political agenda that was not economically viable.

Watch this, I like things a little complicated, just a little, hmm, I don’t know what that says about my personality, but I got to tell you, sometimes when things are downright easy it loses the essence of challenge. Democrats tend to do better when Republicans tip the balance of power. I think we really needed this political shake-up. We are tired of business as usual in Washington.

Ok ladies and gentlemen now that the elections are over let us get back to work. Where? ha, em,em, Oh.

So, let’s see what the Republicans bring to the table, and see how the Democrats respond.

Now tell me what you think, I hate to talk to (with) myself; it sort of feel funny, you know, like you losing it, yes it. What's it ? Scruple guys, scruple. Ha, hmm.

Is corporate America Short of $$$$$$$$$$$$

Ok, so we know that corporate America is not short of money; so who cares about the disposal of the TARP. Let’s think this through, Corporate America is not short of cash, it is not short of talents, it is not short of strategies; so what is it short of? Anybody knows snap your fingers. Do you want my answer? Alright, what the heck, sorry it’s not heck, ha. All kidding aside, here is my answer. Are you ready? Corporate America is short of size, in other words, Corporate America is a dwarf. Whoops.

Alright, no more humor, here is the real deal, Corporate America is short of will, YES will; the will to act, and thus Corporate America shows no regards for economic growth. Therefore, it sits on money that can hire 3.5 million people. Wow, 3.5 MILLION according to Bloomberg Radio. I just love capitalism, don't you. Corporate America is sitting on over 150 billion dollars while skilled workers and their families are losing their homes and the standard of living that they are accustomed to. Why is this happening? Is it because we have a BLACK man in the WHITE house? Or is it because Corporate America is afraid to complete with the emerging markets? Please know that as long as Corporate America sits on the resources that is needed to bust economic growth we will remain in this recession.

Last question, seriously, the last one. Is Corporate America holding the country hostage and prolonging the recession? Anybody agree say Aye. What you think? Talk to me, I need to know what’s on your mind, send me an email, go to the comment line at the bottom of this page and express yourself. Look, Google, Apple, Bank of America, and others are sitting on a ton load of money, just to boast about who has the biggest pile, yes pile or heap or bundle or stash whatever; while the workers of America are suffering. Interest Rates: Where are They Headed?

A lot of folks are worried about the interest rates; they are wondering whether or not we should expect an increase or will interest rates remain the same. Ok, we know that there are certain economic signals that indicate where interest rates are headed. The first one we want to look at is the demand for money. Based on the economic reports that have been published; the demand for money has been drastically reduced, so that one is settled.

Listen up, people are hiding their money, ok, they are hiding it. Alright, alright, they are not; they are just saving for rainy day and it seems that there are plenty of that ahead. (rainy day). So, savings have increased and retail sales have been reduced; in other words, consumers are saving more and buying less, therefore the demand for money is reduced. Thus, one need not worry about an increase in interest rates because of the low demand for money. Thus, the value is down. (money cheap price low). Well then, are interest rates set to decline, quite likely, "they that be" might have to reduce interest rates to induce demand.

New Day New York

It is a new day in New York; actually, a new awakening for New Yorkers. Again we have been attacked. Why do our haters always want to destroy our most valuable treasures. Somehow, I am beginning to think that they are motivated by an underlying envy.

Seriously, we got to be more vigilant; we could have lost time square just like how we lost the world trade center. More importantly, we could have lost dozens of harding working New Yorkers, and tourist.

Again, we got to be more vigilant; our security system at the cross roads of the world needs to be improved and not only there; we need to take a serious look at many of our stategic areas such as our bridges and tunnels. We need to revisit the security budget.

Well, thank God we caught the intended destroyer, that's the name I think is appropriate for him. Now, here's the big question, how many more destroyers hanging out in our backyards? Here's the last thing I want to say, the work of apprenhending these haters is not the sole work of the CIA, FBI, and NYPD; all New Yorkers need to be vigilant. Remember, if you see something say something.

Tax Time or May I Say Refund Time

This is the time many of you have been waiting for; tax time or may I say refund time. Well, just so you know, many of you will not be receiving your refund this year. Whoops. Why? Because you did not pay your credit card bill, huh; and the credit card companies are putting lien notices on your refund. What? Are you for real; you bet; now, you want to make sure you call the IRS before you make that big vacation plan, or other choice purchase; make sense? Well think about it.

Guys, I just have to give you heads up to ease the pain, or save the embarrassment. Now you know that I am a good guy, well you always knew, but it is now reinforced. That said, you owe me one, you know what to do. Ok, just should in case you forgot, all I’m saying is that you owe me some referrals. Some, ok. How about your relatives, that’s a good way to start; what do think? Sounds good, well Wezpa is waiting for your call. Hey, don’t disappoint me.

Oh, wait, wait, wait, what can I do about the credit card thing? My advice is that you call the Credit Card Company and ask for a payment arrangement, and ask them to remove the lien in the process; that’s the way to go. Got it; then hurry down to my office, and let’s get this tax done rapid, rapid ok, we have no time to lose.

What is this Obama Guy Doing

Does this President knows what he is doing? Under his leadership we've sunken deeper into debt, experiencing some of the highest employment numbers in recent history, face potential nuclear Iran, Chaos in Iraq while we are withdrawing our troops, and facing an up-hill battle with Afghanistan. What is the President's strategy to deal with the declining currency and China's manipulation of the global money system by creating a superficial currency which is largely subsidize?

Well folks, I got to tell you, this President is doing a fantastic job given the tremendous challenges that he is faced with. I think the task of the President is magnified as a result of the immediate challenges that demand his attention all at once. Ok, so let's talk about the country's debt; remember that the President inherited this debt for the most part. We have to admit that under the Obama's administration the country's debt has been increased, but it would not be any different under another president because we are in a recession. Please understand that a large amount of the money was used to bail out the banks, or was used in the banking system to refuel the economy.

In addition, the money that was loan to the banking system is being paid back, and that is certainly good news. Let's discuss the issue of unemployment; is this the Obama's administration doing? certainly not. Workers were already starting to lose jobs just before the Obama's administration took office. Could the Obama's administration halt the lost of jobs? of course not, the dominoes were already falling, so to speak. In other words, the economic decline had no further recourse than to adjust itself, and the adjustment, most naturally, took the form of cost reduction, and employee expense is one of the biggest expenditures for most companies.

Now, the wars. These are the President's biggest challenges; they cost BIG money, and produce nothing of quantitative value, they are perhaps the President's biggest headaches. But, again, the President did not initiate any of these wars; they are simply a part of his presidential legacy. So, what can we say about the President, is he doing a good job? you bet, under the circumstances, yes. To be fear and objective, though; there's plenty room for improvement.

The war in Afghanistan is a wanton waste of precious resources, we need to let that go, we cannot win. How do we win a fight with a people who have no value for life? we can't.

Healthcare, good concern; but not urgent. Hey, the percentage of people who do not have health coverage is less than 4% of the working population, and they have access to emergency care and clinics. Again, the healthcare issue is not urgent. The President needs to focus on giving companies incentives to bring our manufacturing and other jobs back to the heartland of America.

Cash for Clunker

The cash for clunker program seems to be a good move on the part of the government to put some stimulus in the economy. The program reported huge success. Many car dealers ran out of inventories, something many car dealerships have not seen. Certainly, this would not be possible without the new bold initiative by the Obama‘s administration.

Despite the high level of traffic that many car dealers enjoyed during the clunker program, there seems to be a potential drawback. One of the potential drawbacks is that car sales have moved forward; in other words, car buyers made their purchases earlier than they would if the situation were otherwise. Thus, car dealers are likely to see little or no sales for the next few months. However, they should have plenty of cash to tie them over those few sluggish months.

Well, it should be noted that the president’s promise to create jobs is being fulfilled, if only in part.

1) Avoid sales promotions, a lot of companies are targeting potential customers by offering large discounts.

2) Don't buy items that you don't need, just because it is on sale.

3) Avoid window shopping in the mall, you might get carried away by the display of the latest styles, and fashions.

Savings Vs. Spending

It seems that some economists are confused about whether spending or savings is the cure for our ailing economy. Essentially, both spending and savings play an integral role in economic growth. Nevertheless, spending stimulate the economy, especially, spending on manufacturing, and key infrastructure.

It must be noted that consumer spending is good, for it denotes consumers' confidence. However, in a time of recession consumers should not engage in wanton spending, rather, they should carefully balance their spending with moderate savings to insure against such misfortune as temporary layoffs, reduction in work hours, and other recession-borne issues.

The Unemployment Rate and its Consequences

Unemployment rate in the United States is on track to reach a staggering 10% by year’s end. This is certainly not good news for Americans. As a result of this news, consumers are "retrenching"—they are saving more and spending less.

Banks are reporting a significant increase in account holders' savings for the almost a year, which means that consumers are not stimulating the economy enough for any sustainable economic growth. Prolonged retrenching will actually stifle economic growth, thus, we need to see a quick improvement in employment. An improvement in employment and a decrease in unemployment rates will increase consumers’ confidence and will encourage spending.

This is a prime opportunity for the American government to help. The government needs to create new jobs and subsidize key sectors in order to change the present economic doldrums. Aside from strengthening the economy, which is a good thing, such a move would increase American's faith in their government and their financial futures.

Citibank and Bank of America: The Struggling Giants

Have you noticed what is happening to Citibank and Bank of America? Do you think they are still two of the world's biggest banks? They aren't any more. So, what happened so fast? Weren't they the two most powerful banks as little as 18 months ago? These two mega-banks were fighting to take over and dominate many of the smaller, but where has their money gone?

I will tell you where their money has gone. Simply, nowhere. They did not have the staggering amounts of money in the first place. Surprised? No need to be. What these banks relied on was useless financial papers of supposed value. Please don't be fooled: this is not a sudden revelation that took the industry by surprise. Management knew they had no money. The industry knew they had no money. The money movers knew they had no money.

Sadly, the banks presented to the investing public balance sheets with "fuzzy value" in a scheme to deceive and cash in on the hard earned cash of the middle class who thought they had real, or literal, value in their 401Ks.

Suddenly, these high priced, falsely inflated stocks became "penny stocks". They fell like the fabled Humpty Dumpty, being destroyed and useless in the process. The consequences: tragic. Baby boomers are left without their pension dollars. These same baby boomers now have to forfeit their retirement, and those who have retired are now working part-time. What's truly sad is that these same baby boomers, who have a lifetime of useful work behind them, now compete with high school students for low paying jobs.

I often wonder about the logic that some of the high-profile, big banks CEOs use. Are they so ill-informed, and therefore incompetent to run a business, or is it arrogance? How could they making choices that bring the economy to a screeching halt, celebrate with excessive bonuses, and buy private jets, all while asking taxpayers to bail them out of their financial mess?

Relief is Near

I am happy to bring you good news: there are signs that the tough times that we, as a nation, have been experiencing are coming to an end. This is clearly a welcome relief for investors and consumers alike.

There is no doubt that this recession has created hardships for thousands of homeowners, small businesses, entrepreneurs, and consumers. Many homeowners were forced into foreclosure, while scores of small businesses lost their ability to secure essential business credit. Individuals have had their lifestyles and dreams stolen from them and have had to create new lifestyles in order to weather the storm. Finally, relief is in sight.

The Financial Rescue Package

The recent financial crisis that rocked Wall Street and the global financial markets seems to have come as a surprise to many bankers, investors, governmental leaders, and pensioners. The excruciating pain of the mortgage-backed securities demise seems to threaten the standard of living of many.

The one group that regrettably will hurt the most is the "baby-boomers". Why this group? Because they are getting ready to retire. Due to the financial crisis and the resulting panic, their
pensions have all but disappeared.

Is the $700 billion financial rescue package any good, particularly to this vulnerable group? That remains to be seen.

Any correction that will occur in the financial market will not happen in the short run, rather, it will take time for it to mature and show positive results. Will it happen soon enough to make a difference to the "baby boomers"? Time will tell...
